Muenster Germanfest this weekend!

I've got just about everything sorted and ready to pack up for Muenster this weekend - my first time vending there. Did a test run hooking up the trailer all by myself. The weather has been beautiful this Spring and I got some cute photos with my friend Casey in my dirndls. And a baby goat.

Tomball Christmas Market

We had a fabulous time at last weekend's Tomball Christmas Market! The new merch - including earrings, purses, Alpine hats and pins - were a big hit. Our booth has also gained some new fixtures. Not bad for our second festival, is it?

Introducing: The Cowgirl Dirndl™

This started off as an experiment, but it turned out so darn cute I'm going to make a whole line, with various shades of denim and different colors of bandanna and gingham fabrics. I paired it with a really simple dirndl blouse with eyelet trim around the arms. It's on top of a plain petticoat, but I'm pretty sure it's going to need a petticoat with eyelet trim, too. Wouldn't this look adorable with a straw hat and cowboy boots?

Lebkuchenherz

Lebkuchen are a traditional German gingerbread-like cookie sometimes covered with chocolate. Lebkuchenherz are gingerbread hearts decorated with terms of endearment (or sarcasm). They are common at just about any German festival, ranging from palm-size to as large as a dinner plate, and they are typically strung on a ribbon and worn around the neck.

Dirndl Trim

I can literally spend days trying to decide which trim to use on a dirndl. The options are infinite ranging from traditional to daring, and it's usually the first thing I'll notice. I love contrast, and sometimes a 3-dimensional trim like I'm experimenting with in this picture. The trim will be applied by hand at the very end of the garment's construction, so it can easily be replaced later on for a different look.
